Tabs have been around a long time. I remember the first book I worked out
of
was a Pete Seeger book that had tabs.

Here is one with tabs from 1962. I'm sure if you looked you'd find a lot
more.

I think you mean "internet tabs" which are 99% wrong anyway.

I don't know how things were in other parts of the world, in the sixties,
but here in Scandinavia tabs didnt even exist. We could visit the library
and find theory books on how to play old traditional tunes (spanish guitar
or jazz guitar chords explained). Pop rock songs were not explained at all.
