As others have replied, the usual chain goes compressors, EQ,
overdrive, chorus, delay, reverb.
It also makes sense in a 'regular' amp setup; you'd have a comp first,
then amp input EQ, amp preamp drive, then all the reverbs etc. as in
spring verbs built in, or added after the micing from board. So that
order makes the pedals work in their 'intended' style.
But, as with many things, swapping things around can yield very
interesting results and it's often worth experimenting with.
