National Geographic showed a program about that here in the
States today. It didn't mention any definate cause or cure.
Probably a virus.
What a shame. Those are cute little critters in a vicious
kind of way. Hope they don't all go away.
The program *did* say that the people working on it
found a couple of individual Devils with better immunity
to the cancer. It also said that that's the first
known strain of cancer in any creature that is contagious.
Nasty.
Yeah just watching a program on them now. The cancer is a virus transmitted by a bite so its started off with one Devil and infected others. Interesting to note that the Devils on the west coast of Tasmania have not yet been affected.
The program here showed it starting in the Northeast corner
and spreading out from there...
I'm a sucker for y'alls animals. So different than what we have here.
I can probbly do without the funnelwebs and the brown snakes though.
Oh come on....Browns are really cuddly once you get to know them....
funnelwebs are more afraid of you than you are of them.
It's those bloody Bogong moths you have to watch out for.
One bite and your worm meat....there's no anti-venom.
