Through the pickup hole is probably the easiest way. You'll need to
remove the whole assembly, solder a new switch in, and re-mount
everything.

One trick to make reinstalling easier - feed picture wire through each
hole and up through the pickup hole. Then wrap each wire around the
appropiate pot shaft, switch tip or jack. Pull the wires gently untill
the parts pop through the body. Then lower the bolts down from the
other end of the wires and tighten.
