On the up side, it still is incredible to me that so few folks died
in that particular nightmare. Before I left NY I once made an upper
story delivery at the WTC on an overcast day. Down below it was a
grey day, but up top the sun was shining bright and I could see the
tops of various NYC skyscrapers sticking up above the clouds.
Surreal don't begin to describe it.

Sorry about your mom. I lost my mom two years ago and I will never
fully get over it.
Unfortunately I also lost a cousin in The Twin Towers. (RIP Amy!).I
also was watching as it happened live (On TV). I was home sick that
day and just watched and watched all day. I live 60 miles from the
city. A few days later I was going over the Throggs Neck Bridge and
could still see the smoke rising where I used to be able to see the
Towers. What a strange feeling.
I agree with you about the number of people. I expected it to be at
least 10,000+. We were so lucky that they did not wait until 9AM...in
fact with all the planning they did, they really screwed up that minor
detail...lucky for all those people.
