I don't think I'd say that. I'm not convinced that Brian Jones was
stronger. Maybe in the earliest days, but not so much later. Seemed
pretty even to me.
Mick Taylor was probably "stronger" in general, certainly better or
more polished as a lead guitarist, but he maybe not as distinctive a
rhythm guitarist.
I might have said that Ron Wood was a bit stronger during his Faces
days, but I can't think of anything he's done with the Stones that
sounds like anything except a slightly weaker Keith Richards. It's like
all of Wood's musical personality disappeared when he joined the band.
Like there are to Keiths in the band.
