Half as successful? How do you measure that? He is considered one of
the best players ever, has been in two highly successful bands that dd
feature singers, and has recorded 24 records where he was the main
guy, and has been on 35 others.

At the ripe old age of 64, is still drawing an audience, playing the
music (presumably) he wants to play, and has avoided working as a
greeter at Walmart. Not bad imo.

All he ever did with his music was create guitar jams. That severely
limits
the amount of people willing to pay to hear it.

Maybe so, but not everyone can be Brittany and Christina. People
(like me) still pay big bucks to see guitar jam based concerts, and
buy the discs. I guess you have a higher standard of success than I
do.
