I mentioned "Comfortably Numb" and the solo on that song
a little while ago. It is not shredder fast or anything
like that. And it is not hard to play or match the notes
but it's nearly impossible to duplicate and those tones are
amazing and his technique. (This still might be one of the
best slower played solos I have ever heard).

But I find I can learn a lot more from slower solos then
super shread speed stuff. I can actually learn from them
and not just do chromatic runs shred stuff (although good
shred stuff is not just GC kids wanking lame riffs or
scale progressions quickly)

Anyways - here I am finishing a paper and the song
"While my guitar gently weeps" comes on and since I was
not preoccupied doing something else I really listened to it
(intead of it being just background song noise).

And WOW! I have to add this into my all time best slower played guitar solo work.
So who actually played this ? Harrison or Clapton ?
Not that it matters really - the solo guitar work is still great stuff.
And once again - it is nearly impossible to duplicate - the tones
sound amazing. It is another deceptively simple solo that
you can play but (for me) probably never get close to mastering
or sounding quite as good.

So does anyone have some more songs with 'slower' paced solos
that I could learn from ? (no shred or pure speed playing)
I like to listen and learn from the slower stuff.
Add to the list so I can check them out and learn. thanks.
Feel free to clip away the top and just reply with new addition to the list.

Songs featuring slow but killer good guitar work -
My 3 faves (so far) are
1. Comfortably Numb (Pink Floyd)
2. Guitar Gently Weeps (Beatles ? Harrison?)
3. Somebody Help Me (John Fogerty)
4. ______________

Funny thing - I do both those songs (but my own way), never really
studied em note for note, mostly going for a feeling . Not typical bar
band music..
.. Playing guitar about 2 years when recorded. I play all parts key,&
guitars, backup vocals - wife sings -(basement stuff)
