Carl,

I really like the song overall. Have pretty much the same opinion
about the dynamics as you and Keith. I had my 16 year old son
listen to it and he loved it (He's more into this type of music.)
so much that he recorded the track using Real Player and converted
it to MP3 for his Ipod. Let us know when the EP is out for sale as
I'd like to buy a copy.

Excellent. Thanks for that. And while I respect the various opinions
expressed here, I have also been aware, without knowing the age of
the posters, that some of the naysayers may be of a different
generation than the target generation. It would actually be your 16
year old son's opinion that carries the most weight for me, for it's
the 15-30 year old market that I'm sure they're most interested in,
not us stodgy old-timers.
Tell your son I said to hold onto that copy because it is an
unmastered version, which my son has chastised me for releasing at
this time, and which I'm predicting will net him a small fortune on
eBay in two years! :-)

I was going to ask about that! IMO it could use a better mix. The
vocal needs to be more a part of the track .. or (and I think this is
the case) the track needs to be as up front sounding (not necessarily
levels) as the vocal. I think it's really good as it is ... just
needs a little audio massaging. BTW, I too have a 16 year old, and
hear music like this a lot. I try to be open minded about it. The
memories of my parents' opinions of what was then modern music are
still strong. ;-)

Yup, the title of the song is "Castled" not "Castled UNMASTERED" as it
appears on the site. The "UNMASTERED" part is sort of a footnote.

And I agree with you. Our parents didn't always like our music. We, as
musicians ourselves, should try to remain open-minded.

Do me a favor: ask your 16 year old to listen and offer an opinion! :-)
