I read a review where Digitech's "The Weapon" sitar effect works well withFor anyone interested:
low impedance pickups. How can I tell if my pups are low impedance?
I have a Strat with SCN pups and a PRS with HFS and Vintage Bass
humbuckers pups. Are all active pickups low impedance and non-active
pickups not low impedance?
Jim
Fender and PRS both replied (within 24 hours!). Both said their pups are not
considered low impedance. PRS went on to say that very few pups are low
impedance and he had only heard of 2 mfg's that made low impedance pups.
Both went on to say that their pups will work fine with Digitechs equipment.
Both also said their pups are considered high output. How that relates to
impedance I'm not sure. High output pups must have more wiring wrapped
around the pole.
Fender said the SCN pups work like stacked humbuckers. Explains why the
bridge pup is so quiet.
Looks like the only way I'm going to find out if "The Weapon" is any good is
to find one and give it a try. Maybe GC has one. The drama continues.
Jim
