Cheers!

it's good stuff.

actually they did a nice cover of have love will travel
and another song I've heard called 'your touch'
both good stuff and at least on your touch it's a power duo
just guitar and drums (no bass player).
fun stuff to play and I agree that he gets this nice gritty tone.
the white stripes and the black keys both started out as simple
straight up non-nonsense rock bands - the black keys stayed the course
but good ol jack has gone all sorts of different ways since then
although every once in a while him and his sister will do a duo and rock out.

I also read that the black keys many times will still use
a 4 track and record in a garage (literally) so that might also
explain the whole cool liv mic sound to their recordings. certainly
doesn't sound processed at all.

if people don't like 'have love will travel' or 'your touch'
then they just don't like music. doesn't get much better for
good straight up rock.

I read something about them doing their own recording but I think they
were using a local studio. It sure sounds like it could be done in a
garage though. Great sounding bluesy fuzz!

I never cared much for the White Stripes, maybe the hype turned me off
although I guess you have to like a band with a busty drummer, but
yeah, same concept, two people doing simple raw sounding rock.
