Right ahn. 2K pro has worked flawlessly for years on this machine. Not
all that crazy about XP but compared to Vista...heh....I'll take XP
any day.
i haven't had any probs with Xp pro (sp2). i put that down to automatic
updates being turned off. don't feel as though I have missed anything.
XP users, don't forget to periodically run MSCONFIG from a command prompt
and take a look at all the crap that's launching itself on startup.
Whenever friends come to me with slow or buggy systems, I usually find a
whole bunch of update-checkers, Quicktime stuff and a bunch of other
nonsense that doesn't need to run on startup. One faulty background app
can add several minutes to startup time. Usually, everything goes downhill
from there.
