No. I see your point here, but what they're saying is akin to saying that
since you bought the LP on vinyl, you can't make a cassette copy of it to
listen to in your car.
I may not like the copywright laws, or the way the industry goes after
theives, but that is no excuse for theft.
The goal isn't to steal from the major recording industry; rather, to hasten
its demise.
I'm just stealing it back. My CD is available for sale and if you buy it,
I'm not going to threaten to sue you if you decide to preserve the CD in
your collection and make a portable copy instead. I -may- prefer that you
not make duplicate copies for all your friends but otherwise, you bought it,
it's yours. If you don't like it, I'll give you your money back.
Remember when Garth Brooks made a big stink about used record stores because
he said it wasn't fair to artists? Their crybaby we're-the-victim schtick
is worn out.
