Ah, you're a tease :-) The page didn't display properly in Netscape, so
had to view it with IE (ugh!).
Netscape?? BAHAHAHHAHAHA!!
*cough*
Firefox is on my list, but I'm lazy, and I hate using Gatesware unless
absolutely necessary ;-)
pickguard!Anyway, it looks sharp! I love the sunburst together with that
longBTW, have you played it with the rhythm circuit engaged? It's been so
eversince I played a Jag, never had one, and I honestly don't remember if I
switched to that or what it sounded like if I did!
Yeah I did and decided it sounded like mud. You really only want to use
that if you want to fade into the background. I've decided that its not
my style to stick down the back and that the tones with it off (switch
DOWN) are much funkier.
Yeah I've discovered the fault with the Jag. That being the position of
the bottom switches. The first two are the pickups ON or OFF switch and
down is off. The third one is a bass cutter. Why the hell you would want
it sounding that thin is beyond me but there you go. The problem is that
those switches down the bottom are pretty easy to turn off if you happen
to get a little funky with your strumming. Turn both of those off and
nothing. Of course the top one over rides everything. Gah!! Nightmare.
Anyway, sounds fine with my pedals.
As Andy said, flip 'em over! It'd be pretty easy to do, and I think it's
more likely that you'd accidentally switch them with a downstroke than an
upstroke. Me, I tend to strum closer to the bridge, so I think I'd be more
likely to accidentally flip the switch on an SG than on a Jag.
BTW, I put a bass cutter on my '65 Ric 450 way back when, 'cause I
remembered the Jag had one. It's actually pretty useful (for me at least)
with a lot of overdrive, keeps it from muddying up. The one I put in has a
pretty small-valued cap (0.0012 mf) so it cuts a lot of midrange out too.
When I use it with my AC-30 cranked to the max it gives me a nice distorted
sound but well-defined top end.
Thinking of beefing up the pedal rack a bit more too - Boss DD-20 and
CE-20. Probably the space echo as well
.
