I think I've heard clips of you singing before, and I was going to say
your speaking voice is totally different.
And for me at least, the Guv'nor is a bit too dark, for most things I do.
That was a very bright guitar that was going into it. It's even darker
with, for example, my Les Paul double cutaway. And of course, there's more
to tweak on the Guv'nor, so this one clip has only scratched the surface.
Is it the newer silver version? I have the old 80's black Guv'nor, and
it has a fair amount of treble on tap. But since Dee's post about his
new Guv'nor, I've been thinking about picking up a modern one.
One thing I do like with the Guv'nor is the different tonal spectrum you can
get using it and a wah in combination. I put the Guv'nor ahead of the wah
in the chain, and more-or-less use the wah in a fixed position, to color the
tone.
One of these days, I'd like to experiment with one OD before a wah and
one after. It seems like that could either sound great, or just
produce a wall of noise. Either way, it's worth trying.
