Well, whatever. I kind of admired him but I guess we were all FORCED
to admire him due to the amount of, like you say, incessant spamming
he did. He was certainly the King of Symphony spammers.

Jarl wasn't just spamming the guitar newsgroups. Jarl's marketing
plan was to spam and substantially cross-post messages on UseNet
about the existence of his glorious "symphonies" and where to
purchase them for download (i.e. -- MP3.COM, then Vitaminic.COM).
I suspect he thought that he could somehow cash in on the Dot Com
boom that was happening back then.
Jarl spent plenty of time spamming and harassing posters in other
UseNet newsgroups besides this one, newsgroups such as such as the
Rec.Music.Classical newsgroups, Rec.Music.Progressive, and the
Yngwie Malmsteen newsgroup.

...I kind of miss the old guy. I think no ISP wanted to handle him
anymore due to his CONSTANT posting of commercial links to his Music.
That was Jarl's trademark; constantly posting illegal links to his
Music, his Symphonies, etc. He was a quark, though. Look, we're still
talking about him.

By day I am Timothy Lance; I work in the Garden Department of
the K-Mart in Fresno, California.
But at night, I become the Viking, Jarl Sigurd the Stout of
Orkney, who fought the Battle of Clontarf in 1014 AD. After
years of rigorous study, especially the ideas of Music
Theoretician Heinrich Schenker and the great conductor,
Wilhelm Furtwängler, I learned how to play rock'n'roll guitar.
I use a Firestone-equipped Gibson Explorer. And I learned the
art of composition, which I have used very sparingly: after
all my years of study, I have produced only one composition,
which serves as a showcase for my invincible prowess as a
Metal Guitarist.

I'm gonna have to check that Link, Gary.
If that link clicks Jarl LIVES!
