Drop in Pickup Kits

Am thinking about upgrading my MIM Standard Strat and buying some locking
tuners and maybe a drop in pickup kit. Any opinions on those things? Anyone
here ever used one? I dont suppose they are too hard to install (Just drop
in?) How much soldering? Something I need to teach myself anyway. Opinions
from users or someone knonwledgable requested.
