No, but it you play it in a different tuning, it will never sound

What I meant was, if you're tuned to Eb, just play anything you
normally would play in standard tuning, using the same fingering and
positions. Sure, it will be a half step lower than the record (or CD),
but it will sound just fine.

I gotcha.. I thought you were talking about transposing the song up a
notch using different fingerings.
I always play "normally" no matter what tuning I'm in, unless I have
to match someone else that might be tuned different.
IE: If I was on my trem geetar , tuned down a half, and decide to
play a ZZ song, I'll play it normally, and have the output a 1/2 down.
But... I would usually prefer to grab the other geetar and have the
output the right pitch. :/
Some songs/chords sound good either way.. Some sound better
in their usual keys, due to the color of the chords.
IE: in a broad general sense, more "happy" sounding songs
are played in standard tune. Or to me anyway...
Being a 1/2 down often adds a different shade to things. A bit
darker or whatever. I don't like the sound of most AC/DC songs
when played a 1/2 down. To me, they sound better in their
normal key. Maybe it's cuz they often use a lot of Chuck Berryish
type licks, etc.. Tuned down, it's like "AC/DC dark" lol...
