The last person to call me Keefy was my mother who I loved. She
almost
got her throat slit for her troubles. I hate to think of what
I'd do
to
you if you were in arms reach. You wouldnt like it much.

settle down keefy

never tell people what bothers you

Don't tell Keefy what to do, he'll get angry.

Interesting how guys like Meat Plow and others so casually fling their
little comically deprived comments around without regard for how
retarded it makes them appear. Since this is a guitar newsgroup I
would expect these guys to maybe put the *** up or shut the *** up.
I'm sure that Keith doesn't need (or possibly even welcome) me coming
to his defense, but, as he is a builder of guitars, and he has
regularly posted photos and detailed info about his instruments on
this group, I think he's backed up his assertions and opinions. I
don't recall the rest of you cowards posting anything worthwhile
(links to your writing, playing, performing, building etc). Time to
pony up to the bar gents (and ladies), and put your proverbial money
where your mouths are.

Great idea! Let's start with a clip of Keith playing, eh?

Not sure I've ever heard Keith make a statement that he's a godhead of
guitar playing. But the rest of you guys seem to be pretty confident
in your musical abilities. At least that's what I infer from your
posts. So how's about we start with you Rich? You seem like a pretty
amiable kinda guy. You shouldn't have any problem with showing us your
wares.

Check out the archives. I've posted stuff several times. But I've never
claimed to be anything more than an amateur. Keith has commented on many of
them, mostly positively, for what it's worth.

The geocities server that I use is limited in capacity, so I can't keep
everything I've done there at once. Here's some stuff that's on there right
now:
http://www.geocities.com/rpleavitt/Headlight.mp3
http://www.geocities.com/rpleavitt/NowImHere.mp3
http://www.geocities.com/rpleavitt/Nowhere.mp3
http://www.geocities.com/rpleavitt/Maybe.mp3
The first three are covers; the last is an original.

I think the mistake you're making, which my post was intended to point out
(maybe with a little excessive irony) is that being able to play well, or
sing well, doesn't necessarily qualify one to make credible posts here. I
can name at least one poster who seems to qualify on your grounds but whose
posts largely border on the ridiculous. And some others who are nearly rank
amateurs playing-wise but who have posted much intelligent and insightful
material.

I don't tend to judge people on the basis of one or two posts, or on the
basis of what they can play. If they play well, fine; that says they're a
good player but not necessarily that they know about guitar construction,
electronics, etc. And vice-versa.

I think that most of us have something useful to bring to the newsgroup. In
my case, I have more knowledge of electronics and pickups than most, but I'd
probably be out-played by quite a large fraction of the group. So what?? I
try to chime in where my knowledge can contribute positively. The vast
majority of the others, IMHO, do the same.
