What's your heaviest. My US Strat weighs 12 lbs. I weighed it last
night. Playing it is like stretching tinsel on an anvil, a beautiful
thing...
12 pounds!!!!!!!! What is it made of ??????
My USA Double-Fat Strat weighs 7 lbs 4 ounces and it is alder.
About the heaviest Strats I have seen are around 8 lbs.
heavy telecasters can get into 9 pound territory though.
But even my MIJ Squier Tele is only slightly over 7 lbs.
I have never heard of a Strat at 12 pounds!! What a boat anchor.
I wouldn't play anything that heavy.
Maybe it is some home made Strat you are using ?
No, it's a 79 US Strat. Some of the weight could be the EMG pups and
battery. Plus, it has a Washburn Wonderbar, but in general it's a
very dense guitar.
I love it. I have a nice comfortable strap on it and it's what I'm
used to.
Dang, my '79 MIA Strat weighs in ~7 1/2 pounds. Essentially stock
except for Kahler trem. Don't understand why yours would weigh so
much more, even with EMG active pickups. Sure your scale is accurate?
;)
The only reason I weighed it was because I thought it was heavy.
Keith commented on a ten pound guitar yesterday and I was wondering
where she sat. Before I added any of the mods it was heavy so I'm
thinking particular cut of wood is dense?
