V1 should be the tube furthest away from the power tubes. Reverb tanks work
on different impedances. The tank you put in might be the wrong ? Also the
preamp tubes are actually two tubes in one. You may have a bad tube ( or
only half functioning properly )in the socket that drives the reverb . That
will also cause the reverb problems that you describe.

It occurs to me that as I will only be using the clean channel of my B-52
AT100 that I may not be engaging all the preamp tubes. There are 4 preamp
tubes in it. V1 V2 V3 V4 slots. Could I just change one or two preamp
tubes get a better clean tone and forget about the others? Or are all 4
engaged always?
