The current flows through all the tubes all the time. Just because
you're playing with a clean tone doesn't mean you're not using theI realize that, I was just thinking that it prolly utilizes different tubes
tubes. Without the tubes, you wouldn't have a preamp at all, only an
equalizer.
for different gain stages, some being more important for the clean channel
and some for uber metal.
