Will you please stop implying that all Korina G-400s or Slash
LPs have
appreciated in value. They haven't. You just got a great
deal.
Chris
READ MY POST. They now sell for MORE THAN STREET when new.
It's a fact.- Hide quoted text -

All Korina G-400s or Slash LPs or just yours?
Chris
What's to tough to grasp? Average current used prices on the
limited
edition KORINA G-400 and the limited edition Epi Slash are HIGHER
than
average street price at the time they were sold new. Since I
"bargained
shopped," I'm even further ahead of the game. But I'm talking
average
street prices.
Have you done a closed auction search of that Slash? The last
one
offered had a BIN price of $1k. It ran up to $740.09, but owner
wouldn't sell.- Hide quoted text -

I'm not sure if these are the exact ones but these Epiphone Korina
G-400s didn't sell for more than new.

Asking price is WELL over street price at time of release. No,
they
didn't sell in those auctions. They have sold for more in the
past.
I could put a for sale sign of $5000 on my Les Paul. Doesn't mean
it's worth it.
No one bought these Slash's either, as the price was TOO high.
I've seen the Slash model sell at over $700 MANY times on ebay.
I haven't.
And you watch? I DO. Do you think I'm lying?
I'm here to tell ya that average selling price on BOTH guitars is
MORE
than street when I bought them. Whether you choose to believe or
not
does not change that fact.- Hide quoted text -
How is it a fact if only you have seen these auctions?
Had you been looking, you would've seen.
Keep in mind
that you are saying that all of these guitars are worth more used
than
what they sold for at retail, not just what you paid for your
guitars.
BINGO! You finally got it. And again, are you calling me a liar?
I paid $150 for a 100 watt all tube Seymour Duncan Convertible head
and sold it for $400, doesn't mean all these amps are worth more now
than ten years ago.
Apples and oranges. You bought used, sold later.
I bought new, and they HAVE appreciated in value based on recent ebay
sales. A FACT.
Chris-
Do I believe that any Epiphone Korina G-400 or Epiphone Slash LP is
worth more now than what they cost new a few years ago? No.
Do I believe that your Epiphone Korina G-400 or Epiphone Slash LP is
worth more now than what you paid for them new a few years ago? Yes.
Which one are you saying?
Chris
Seriously Chris, you don't know what I'm saying? Check the BINGO
comment, if in doubt.
Okay, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt (that you're not trolling,
that you still don't get it)... ONE LAST TIME...
A Korina G-400 or Slash LP sells (on average) for MORE used on ebay now
than what the average street price was when I bought the guitar. This
assumes decent condition, and won't be EVERY guitar, because some guys
may have paid more than average street (some people do overpay). I
paid
even less. Street on the Slash was around $500, and street for the
Korina was under $350.
If in decent used condition, a Slash is a bargain at $500 (former
street
new price) and a Korina G-400 is a bargain under $350 (former street
new
price).
Is that clear enough?
First hit I got with a google search: "Epiphone was putting out a
scaled down model of the SLASH signature Les Paul. These go for around
$700 or $800." at: http://www.snakepit.org/equip.html- Hide quoted

I don't believe you and would welcome being proved wrong.
Is that clear enough?
Chris
I believe that the burden of proof is on you.
I disagree. Jim made the claim so he has the burden of proof of proving
his claims.
So, not the faceless internet guys calling me the liar? Nice.
Every time Guncho comes out with some claim or statement there is a huge
chorus of voices mostly led by repair man that he back up his claims or site
sources for his position. And you are usually right there with repair man
demanding he site text verbatim etc. of his stand.
So it seems to me if it is good enough for you to all jump on him then I
feel it is okay for you to follow the same standards you demand of him.
Or is it okay to just change the rules when it isn't Guncho that is argueing
here.
I have had epis made in both China and Korea and quite frankly I prefer the
newer ones to the Korean ones. I hate those green snot tuners the Koreans
ones had and much prefer the china epi's that come standard with Grovers. I
remember holding several Korean epi Les Pauls that had solid alder bodies.
Check the new epi 2007 catalog. Very few epi Les Pauls are made now with
alder. They all list mahogany as body wood except for the 2 lowest models.
They haven't updated the web page yet but if you get the catalog you will
see the changes.
In fact if you can't come up with proof that Jim is wrong, you're just
adding to your reputation as a clueless, argumentative blockhead.
Sorry, but you just love to argue for its own sake when you have no basis
in
fact that supports your arguments.
It's getting really old.
