The 3 wounds are one half of the strat and the 3 unwounds make the other

And that's part of the strat vibe. I'm not complaining about it -
just pointing it out - you get used to it and adjust your playing around it.

Just a note about the discussion you two are having. I have the DG20
David Gilmour EMG pickup set on my strat and have noticed that this is
less of a problem. It was one of the first things I noticed about the
pickups when I installed them.
