In an earlier discussion I stated a fact. A solid body guitars finish doesnt
affect its sound. Squier made some good points concerning the strings
vibrations and what the pickups see. I believe everything he said to be
pretty much dead on. Jim came back with how the pickups interact with the
guitars body and has a hand in shaping its sound Also true. Though I said
the finish makes no difference ...I didnt say that aguitarbodies resonence
didnt affect tone. The wood does but not the type.Wood types dont have
flavors. You cant say that mahogany sounds like choclate because that piece
doesnt but this piece sure as hell does. Theres times when a piece of walnut
will sound exactly like a piece of alder.
Next point is about resonence. If you own any solid body
PRS,Rick,Gibson,Fender,Ibanez,BC Rich or any other then you own a piece of
***. Thats not how you build a good electricguitar. What it is...is the
cheapest way to build an electricguitar. I dont care if its $50 or $20,000.
They're overweight lifeless turds. If you want the bestguitaryou've ever
played then buy a cheap Squier ( or any other cheapguitarwith the shape
you want) and hollow the son of a bitch out. Re top it with some pretty
1/4" wood and you've suddenly got a one of a kind customguitar. When I say
hollow it out I dont mean no chicken*** chambers or f------g middle strip.
I mean hollow. If anybody wants particulars then let me know. I dont type
for fun so unless you're serious about it dont even bother me with bull
***. I've already explained it to some ball less dullards and aint into
doing it again just for shits and grins. It will blow any solid body away
and I'll guarantee it.
Why on earth would anyone waste their time rebutting this obvious
moron's cretinous blatherings?
