Re: Klein Electric Guitar!

Yes I did and according to the strict definitions contained therein, I was
pretty correct, without having had the need to refer to such.

HTTP stands for HyperText Transfer Protocol, which is by far the most
commonly used protocol on the Web. However, it's not the only one.
From the same site:

Why are you telling me things I already know and didn't ask
about....like...who cares anyway, this is a guitar newsgroup, not one for
Computer geeks!
(of which I am one, but have managed to develope a sound level of knowledge
without my brain frying and being "manic" about it)

http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/U/URL.html
"Abbreviation of Uniform Resource Locator, the global address of
documents and other resources on the World Wide Web.

....as above

The first part of the address indicates what protocol to use, and the
second part specifies the IP address or the domain name where the
resource is located.

......No shit Sherlock!

For example, the two URLs below point to two different files at the
domain pcwebopedia.com. The first specifies an executable file that
should be fetched using the FTP protocol; the second specifies a Web
page that should be fetched using the HTTP protocol:
# ftp://www.pcwebopedia.com/stuff.exe
# http://www.pcwebopedia.com/index.html";

ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ah oh Umm aaagghhhhh
ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

In other words, 'Hyperlink' ("documents") is a subset of
'URL'("documents and other resources").

...more Z's....ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Yes, I'm a revolting pedant.

....You got that right!!!!!!!!!

I must be getting cranky, sorry about the overreaction!
