So I am at my Blues lesson tonight and was having some problems with
bending. I mentioned that it might have something to do with string size (I
have 11's on my Strat). Teacher said "Here, lets swap, I have 9's on this".
So I took his all original 62 Strat and played it. One thing I know, put 9's
on my strat this weekend. But thats not what the header is about. Playing
that vintage strat I could actually FEEL the music through the guitar.
Vibration, but not in a bad way, in a good way, like you could actually feel
the music. Compared to that thing, my MIM strat is a dead block of wood.

Yep. But it doesn't have to be a '62 to get that same vibe. All of mine
resonate like that against my bodice. Guess you just have to be lucky to
find them.

Jeff, same thing as what VampiressX said. It doesn't have to be an
old, vintage guitar to resonate. That is the very first quality I test
for when trying out a guitar to purchase; I don't even plug them in
right away, I just play a few chords and notes and I'll know in a few
seconds whether I'm going to like the guitar or not.

All of the guitars that I own (and still play) were built after 1990
and every one of them (Gibsons, Fenders, and a Reverend) resonate very
well. Outside of my LP which is a Custom Shop guitar and the Reverend
which is discontinued, none of the others are anything special and are
regular production guitars I bought off-the-shelf. You just have to try
out a bunch of a given model you are interested in until you find the
one you like best.
