"Venus" by the Dutch group Shocking Blue was a NUMBER ONE hit in the USA on
February 7, 1970 and stayed eight weeks in the Top Ten.
Golden Earring had several big hits (among which "Radar Love"),
And then there's George Baker (terrible song "Una Palamo Blanca"). Just to
name a few But there were many more that had lesser hits.
On the guitar front:
Jesse van Ruller won the Thelonious Monk Competition as best jazz guitarist
in the 1995 USA competition.
Jan Akkerman was voted best guitarist by Guitar Player magazine in 1974.
Adrian van den Berg was a Dutch guitarist and he played with Whitesnake
("This Burning Heart")
Eddy van Halen is Dutch. Born in 1955 in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Know
him? Some people actually think he can play the guitar a bit and he seems to
have written some hits.
There really is no end to your ignorance is there? You start yapping and hit
send. Yap, yap .....
Amazing.

Theres no such thing as a Dutch guitar God or songwriter. Has there
ever been a Dutchman to write a song thats broken into the top 100 on
the U.S. charts?
