They can put out as many as their label wants them to and they'll be
hits. These days success in music is bought and paid for. The record
label only allows so much success. Why ? Because they dont want any Rod
Stewerts,Stones,Claptons,Stevie Wonders or any other super stars. They
cant control them. They dont want any part of that ***. It used to be
that radio stations wanted to play the best music available to keep
their ratings up and appease their sponsors. No sponsors no radio
station. Now the record label pays the sponsors . Their crap gets
played and since its the only new music on the radio its a
hit.Everybodies happy except the artist because it takes two big
sellers or you end up owing the record label money. Theres your two.
Were rolling in the bucks, the artists are broke and seeya. You're not
gonna hear any new music on the radio unless its what they tell you
its what you'll like..

I just picked up a copy of Television's The Blow Up....pretty greatjust
stuff...much more on the edge than DP.
I went through three copies of Made in Japan back when I was a kid,
wore the vinyl right through.it's
Listened to it again a few months back (mp3 version now), and sure,
great stuff...although compared to Television it sounds veryrehearsed!
I've never been a huge fan of live records though.
What I've noticed in the last few years is that nearly every band that
has a hit CD immediately releases a live DVD. Bands that haven't
established themselves as a touring act, don't have the catalog of
songs to play, and couldn't fill an arena in Podunk, Iowa think they
can make an easy dollar recycling their last album. What they don't get
is, if I can buy your DVD for $15-20 bucks, after paying $20 for your
CD, why do I want to pay $50 to wade thru stoners, drunks, and people
that have no business smelling as bad as they have succeeded in doing.
No band of this decade can fill a stadium, and no band can put together
more than two hit CDs before expiring. They all burn out much faster
than they used to.
