it could be the stop tail piece needs to tightened. I too had a 335
copy and it did rattle just like yours. I solved it by turning the
bolts that tighten the tail piece to the body.
good luck..

Yesterday, I played a Gibson ES-335 that I'm interested in purchasing
at a local music store. The guitar's in great condition, but
un-amplified there was some sort of metallic kind of rattling or
buzzing that sounded like it was coming from the bridge or tailpiece
area when I hit certain notes on the higher strings at the mid-upper
frets. It wasn't fret buzz, and I tried damping different pieces of
hardware to see if something was loose, but I couldn't seem to isolate
it. When I questioned the salesperson, he said 'It's a 335' seeming to
try to say that it's a common idiosyncracy with them. This is the only
335 I've played, so I don't know if it's true or not. Amplified,
there's no problem at all. I was just wondering if this is, indeed,
something that 335's, or some 335's tend to do. If it is, I suppose I
could live with it, but I was just curious if this guy was just BS'ing
me.
I had a 335 copy that did just that. Must have been true to the
original. :-)
Anyway, it didn't bother me since it wasn't noticeable when playing
through an amp.
