Agreed 100% Jim. The guitar in question for me was a Jazzmaster reissue. I only tried 4 in total (unplugged and amped). 3 of them were at best various different levels of "hmmm...sounds OK I guess". They all had setup issues, but the _TONE_ was _SEVERELY LACKING_ compared to the one I bought (a really nice player).
Anyone claiming that all same model guitars play and sound roughly the same is either a troll, or a fucktard (or possibly both....Guncho?)
