Ended up at GC last night.

I was suppposed to be going to see that band last night. Somehow (Wifes
decision) we ended up seeing a movie (North Country-I reccomend it) and
going to pick up my daughter a cell phone. Well, GC just happens to be right
next door to where the cell phone place is so I stopped in to inquire about
the Epi G-400 with Maestro Trem. They had G-400's but no trem. It was in the
same scheme as the one on the cover of MF. Glad I didnt order it like I was
going to jump the gun and do. I dont like the way it looks (MF Catalog
presentation makes it look beautiful and classic), it plays like shit. For a
$449 guitar it certainly felt action wise like a $100 Squire. I spoke to the
manager of GC and did learn a few things though. Not to order from the MF
catalog. Just get the number of whatever you want or bring in the catalog
and they will order it. Instead of going through the warehouse it will go
factory direct to GC. You play it in the store and dont like it or something
is wrong, you dont have to worry about packing it up and shipping it back,
they do it. All prices are the same so your not losing anything. So thats
what Ill do from now on.
Also, I can see a lot of little wannabe rockers running around on Xmas
morning. GC was getting ready for Christmas obviously. There were about 30
B.C. Rich Warlocks setting around for $199. Normally you never see any. Plus
I noticed a lot more than usual $100-$300 guitars on display. Where the
Gretsch Archtops usually are was one Gretsch and a bunch of Epi's.
I did make a purchase though. A Fender G-Dec amp. I played with it last
night and this morning and will probably take it back tonight. Not too
impressed with it.
