Hamer(usa) Guitars

Don't see USA made Hamers mentioned much here. Was looking around for
a second electric to suppliment my Am Strat and had been looking
mostly at Gibsons cause I wanted something with humbuckers. Tried at
least a dozen various models, V, Les Paul, etc and was underimpressed
to say the least. Came across an ad for a used Hamer Californian and
thought I would check it out. Did some initial reasearch on the
company and was impressed, Harmoney Central had great reviews also.
e-bay was lacking on this particular model (1988 by the serial #) so
it was difficult to determine a good value. Decided to check it out
and I was in love in the first five minutes with this guitar. Plays
like a dream, fit and finish are top rate and for a 17 year old guitar
this axe was like new, no scratches, no chips original case etc.
I think the Strat is going to be seeing a lot less use in the future.
;-)
Any other comments from Hamer owners or people that have played them?
