Is rock dead?

Seems to me like all the kids are into techno, and whatever other forms of
industrial sounding, computerised dance music these days. The DJ is the
new popstar.

Here in Australia, we have something called The Big Day Out. That's a
combined tour by a bunch of big name acts. In my town, they sometimes pull
as many as 30, 000 at the gates. I remember when a single band would pull
50, 000. So is it all petering out?
