The thin double face tape like what is used for gift wrapping has no impact
on tone. And I doubt you could destroy the polly finish on an artcore unless
you were really trying.

Tell that to the Gretch guys who have been doing it for 50 years. It's
called pegging the bridge and it's pretty widely accepted as an improvement,
especially when there's a floating bridge/bigspy involved... which is found
on some Artcore models.

That works great until you knock it while changing the strings. Better to
just learn how to re-set it no matter what you do you are going to knock it
out at some point.
