the main issue wth a nut is its hardness and slip factor...
hardness = ability to transfer sound / vibrations....
slip = ability to allow strings to slide through the nut when they are
tuned up or down....
strings binding on the nut is one of the big issues in staying in
tune... another is srrings binding on the saddles end
