Beach Boys wrote a song about surfing there on the south side. East side
has some dangerous riptides in places. When we go back we're probably
going to stay on the north side because I like to hike and I don't surf.
If you're into hiking, there is a famous trail there <Kalalau Trail>
that goes past some incredible scenery where much of "Jurassic Park" was
filmed. Trail is steep in places and you should go to the ranger station
to tell them you're using it.

Highly ***** recommend for experienced hikers. Not for newbies. :) The
whole island is amazing but the north side is a must see. *Personally*,
I'd stay on the north side. More expensive but worth it.
