I didn't say he had a great sense of timing, I said I found that particular chord/note change difficult to get. It is about my muscle memory, and I'm confident I'll get it eventually. He and Doc Watson are two examples of players whose sense of timing I admire. Whether you would want to call it great or not is another question, but it is something I would seek to emulate. Just to avoid confusion, it isn't about copying, it is about acquiring technique.
