I occasionally use GG to post to Usenet, when my OE account isn't
working reliably, as at the moment. After signing in, it opens with a
page of my usenet statistics for the past week. Most weeks I start 2
or 3 threads, have maybe 30 replies and 200-400 views. This seems
reasonable to me, that maybe 4 or 5 folks look at a piece of thread
I'm involved in for every one that replies. This week there have been
3800 views so far, over 10 times the weekly average. I'm wondering
what caused the massive spike. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the
quality of either my Usenet output or my music, and I'm curious to
know what's going on. Some kind of identity theft comes to mind, as
I've never tried to hide my true identity.
