I think really good comedians can't not be funny. So, in the case of
self-deprecating humor, success may have been the result of a poor
upbringing. It's sad; that's why we have to laugh.

I can think of many (not by name) that I "turned off"
because they were'nt funny. I wasn't laughing, so I
think "why am I wasting my time with this?"
