I'm both a technophobe and a dinosaur when it comes to new technology (though I have learned how to make calls on my mobile phone), but I recently bought a Digitech RP250 multiFX processor. After fiddling with it for a few days I bought a USB cable, plugged it into the computer, and downloaded and fired up X-Edit. I just loved watching the display change on the RP250 when I used the virtual interface on the screen. Only thing is it kept giving obscure messages in computerese "parameter.. invalid at address...", and some of the effects didn't work, eg the pitch shifter. So, screwing up my courage to the sticking point again I downloaded and installed the firmware update, and it now seems to work fine. This thing could become addictive.

Am I supposed to be able to hear the FX in real time on the computer? If so would I need to use a USB output to the speakers? The website goes on about setting the USB mix and output, but I don't understand it.

Thanks,

Tony D

Damn Tony, I wish I had known you were looking for a digitech multi effects pedal... I had an RP350 I would have sent to you to play with first.
The RP350 has an extra foot switch & a few more reatures but the real bonus is that comes with a a copy of Cubase.

I sold it to a workmate last week.... cheap :)

<g> Thanks for that, even if I missed the chance. I was thinking of trading my Blues Deluxe on something more hifi eg acoustic, bass or keyboard amp, but the more I mess with it and the RP250, the better it sounds. You have to be careful to avoid change for the sake of it eh?

I really liked the Pandora PX4, but after several attempts it was deemed unfixable - the RP250 seems to be a good substitute, and has the added dimension provided by the expression pedal.
