singing

Now I'm old and have been playing a guitar most of my life.
I play rhythm and lead, what ever it takes.
I was in a choir when I was very young and had a good voice.
My biggest attribute was/is that I am always on pitch.
Just a natural thing.
But I never did much singing.
Why?
It took away from my guitar playing.
I can do two things at once like pick/strum with one hand and finger
notes and chords with the other hand but when you add a third thing
(singing) I get all screwed up.
The trick to singing is to know the melody and lyrics without thinking
about it.
Thinking only gets you in trouble.
