I expect you'll quit your trolling about "non-readers" in this newsgroup
because, according to your definition, we all are.
That's not trolling, it's the all-too-common Usenet meltdown. You
seem to be on the verge of one too (count your posts in this
"discussion"). It is, of course, your prerogative to fight to the end
but I suspect you'd prefer to get back to fruitful discussion about
playing guitar rather than being locked in an unwinnable argument (1).

You're right in a sense. Besides, this thread was pretty much dormant before Lumpy returned from his extended hiatus.
But people are misunderstanding my view. I'm not advocating tab, I'm not advocating notation, if I were teaching regularly, if I advocated anything it would be ear training and learning songs by listening to them.
All I'm saying is that there is SOME value in all of the above.
