And even if I couldn't, my mail application (just the standard
one that
comes with a Mac) puts a little red line under misspelled words.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

It'll put a line under focussed, rhymes with locust, too. Instead,
the "correct" spelling is focused. Incredible. Unbelievable. Look
it up.
I lie not. Looks to me like spelling abuse. ;-) I can't stand it.
I'll stick with focussed. Regards, daveA

Ah, I think that's a British spelling vs. American spelling thing.
E.g., if you are using an American dictionary, it will tell you to
write "traveled" instead of "travelled." I certainly don't always
agree with the computer on spelling and grammar. I especially
dislike MS Word's grammar pronouncements.

But still, it can be helpful to have a spell checker. It would have
helped out the nauseous guy.

Your the only one getting nauseous over spelling - some of us just
roll with it, and enjoy life. e

You don't have a clue.

I think it's a rare occasion when you'll find me making a spelling or
grammatical mistake. But Ed's right -- consider the context (a
newsgroup, not a dissertation). We've all got our own strengths and
weaknesses, and the one in question is far too trivial to fuss about
here.

After all, this aint alt.guitars.phd :)
