Pathfinder 15r: I've had it about a month now. Cannot touch this thing
for the price ~ $120. One problem; the line out is worthless to me and
I really wanted that to work well. I think it's clipping and just
giving a crappy signal. ..

Looking at their owners manual, they describe the Line Out as "This
output carries a specially filtered signal for direct connection to a
soundboard or recording console".

The "specially filtered" part is a bit worrysome, but what "input" are
you plugging this into? If you're getting clipping, it is possible that
you've put it into an inappropriate input, like a mic soundcard input. If
you really must use that, you'll need to put an attenuator between it and
the line out.

Better sound cards provide a "line input" in addition to the "mic"
input. Try that if you have that option. Sometimes, there is also a
sound level software property that you can "control". It may be called
anything from "level", "sensitivity" to "boost".

I don't think the fault is with the amp on this one.

Snark.

The soundboard/recorder part is covered. Should work under those criteria, but I'm still working on it. I've tried it on vocal, instru, hi-z on the soundboard/recorder. The recorder works well with the tube amps....so that rules that out.

I think I need to crank it through the PF's speaker to get a decent tone on the line out too, but it defeats the purpose. An isolation cabinet could work. I can't help but think it's the headphones screwing it up.
