Derek and Lumpy.....Did you ever have the tips on?

One time he put a tip on at my request.
I was experimenting with really long nails.
But as soon as that grew out, he went back to
simply filling them.

About once a year I let them grow out quite a
ways and then have them removed, just so I can
check for any problems. I've never had any fungus
or any other problems in the natural nails. Been doing
it for about 5 yrs.

I've got them a little shorter than I used to have
right now. I'm playing a lot of standup bass. The
really long talons get in the way of some of that
puk-it-a-puh stuff when playing jazz bass.

But the short answer is, no plastic tips needed,
just the resin. If you find they get yellow with
exposure to UV, find another nail shop. The cheap
product yellows. The good stuff doesn't.

I generally get the pink tinted stuff on mine.
It's not pink like "Hello Kitty" pink. It's pink
like very slight skin tone. Looks more natural than
clear. Then I keep the surface "matte finished" with
a piece of 2400 grit micro mesh paper.
