Great selection and compromise for the $ Tony.I've been using my vj a lot lately. It is pretty noisy though. There
I totally get the "best rig for the $" game, however, I don't play it.
I prefer spending more $ and getting what I really want.
Having said that, the new Fender Champ with an Emi Ragin Cajun
speaker, a Jay Tuser Tele, Bad Monkey and Danelectro pedals would
probably do the job quite nicely for not much coin.
Though the Epi VJr is not a bad choice either.
are 2 buzzes that it makes. One constant buzz from just being turned
on and one that increases with volume until about 7 or 8 when if fades
quite a bit...overdriven at that point? Anyway, I wonder if there's a
simple cap or pot change I can do to reduce either or both.

Later Valve Juniors had DC filaments and more filter capacitors.
Not sure, I bought it used a couple years ago. How can I tell?
From the wikipedia site:
# Combo version 1 has front panel stripes that run along the centre of
the front panel and has a 4 ohm output only and a AC filament voltage.
# Combo version 2 has front panel stripes that run along the top of the
front panel and has a 4 ohm output only and a DC filament voltage.
# Combo version 3 has front panel stripes that run along the top of the
front panel and has 4,8 and 16 ohm outputs and a DC filament voltage.
thanks. Mine is either 1 or 2. I'll check tonight.
