I thought I would try Thunderbird or Sea Monkey which look
the same to me but my problem is that neither of those two seem to
have a place for me to enter my password. I find a place where it
says enter user name and password but there is no place for the
password, just the username. I have found where you can manage
passwords and set a master password but that is not what I need.
It actually says "enter user name and password" but there is only
a line for the user name. So what happens is that Im only able to
download about ten groups. If anyone can point me in the right
direction, It would be appreciated. Thanks.

1. Select Tools, Options from the top menu.

2. Select Privacy.

3. Select the Passwords tab.

4. Click the Edit Saved Passwords button.

5. Make sure that the Passwords Saved tab is selected on the
Password Manager dialog box.

6. Look for the name of the e-mail account that you wish to change.
Highlight the account name and click the Remove button. This will
allow you to re-enter the password the next time you try to access
your mail.

7. Click the OK button.

Thanks Nil but that is not it. I mean I get there but I have no saved
passwords and that is the problem. When I first set up Thunderbird and I
set up the account for my newsgroups I come to the SMPT server. It has a
box that says enter user name and password. I enter the username that
motzarella gave me when I signed up but there is no box for the password
that they gave me. I did it also in outlook and outlook gives me the box
for the password and it downloads hundreds of groups. I understand where
you sent me because that is where you can change a password that you have
saved but Im not even getting to save the password because there is no box
for it. Would it be a Vista problem? Maybe im stuck with outlook. Thanks.

Do you get your email from motzerella? SMTP is an email protocol not
news.

I use Forte Agent as a newsreader. You can get older versions for
free (Windows).
