So how about this...
Joe has a computer.
Joe gets magazines and/or newspapers.
Joe could cancel the print copies and
use his computer to read the news
and look at the naked Africans instead
of getting the NY Times and Natl Geographic.
Joe "might" spend a few cents per year more on
electricity to use his computer. Or he might not
as it may be on 24/7 anyway. No new computers built
or disposed of etc.
I don't know anything about how chips and transistors
are built. But I know that paper mills destroy the
environment for miles around and miles downstream.
