I never take out a plan on appliances, but I did when I bought my plasma HD
TV. I really hope that I won't need it, but given the cost of "fixing"
anything in such a device, it was a risk I don't want to take.

AFAICS there is nothing "fixable" in a HD TV, so you really want to make
sure that you have a 'replacement option' available.
